Before the settlers came to North America, it was full of Native American tribes. They had a distinctly different culture than the white man and held very different spiritual beliefs. This is the central theme of the latest slot offering from Ainsworth.

Named Chiefs Magic, players are taken back in time where the white man was yet to enter the lands of North America. The developers have done a good job in bringing the theme to the forefront and the reels and symbols share a similar theme.

Standard Setup

Despite the unique premise and interesting theme, the game uses the standard grid of five reels and three rows. There are 50 fixed paylines for players to win on which is good but not great. You get the same feeling when you look at the betting range.

Players can bet from $1 to $50 which might seem like a decent spread. However, given the fact that the market has a number of slots that allow bets that reach more than a hundred dollars, the low ceiling in Chiefs Magic will not impress high rollers.

The minimum bet amount is also too high, with other offerings having a minimum bet starting out at $0.10. This betting range will make this game appeal mostly to mid-stakes players.  

The symbols in the game are a mix of low-value symbols which are the card royals. The more valuable symbols are the thematic ones which include white wolves, Indian tents, chiefs, and white eagles which slot in as the premium symbols. There are also two special symbols. The orange symbol is the Wild, which can substitute for any symbol except the scatter. The wolf’s eye is the scatter, which players an important role in the special features.

Special Features

Wilds are great and make it a lot easier to win. They are also more powerful during the Free Spins feature, allowing players to get multipliers. They come in either x3 or x5. As for the scatters, players need to score three or more of them to trigger the free spins.

When that happens, players get 10 free spins and new symbols show up. These are the most valuable symbols in the game and include a bonus card royal symbol, crossed tomahawks, and the golden chief. Players can potentially win up to 1,000x their bet and this is a lot easier during the free spins.

Players can trigger the free spins feature again by scoring two scatters during the current spins. Players then get five additional spins free of charge. The two scatters can also provide players with the Second Chance Respin feature during normal play. Finally, players can score big on the progressive jackpot, if they are really lucky.
